Island of Kauai

Bambulei is tucked away from Kuhio Highway across from Kintaro Japanese Restaurant, just north of the Wailua River. Pronounced baym-boo-lay, it means “Road to Adventure” and it is without doubt a road worth taking. This gem of a shop is housed in two restored plantation cottages and is brimming with an eclectic mix of unique treasures, both contemporary and vintage—clothes, Hawaiiana, art, collectibles, and furniture. Selected with a keen eye by owner Valerie Ray, Bambulei is a shopping experience not to be missed. And with so much to see, it’s a place you’ll want to linger in, and return to, again and again.
