Island of Big Island

Combining a love for his Big Island home with European-inspired digital media, Hawai‘i-born artist Chris Jaeckle offers a unique portfolio of watercolor landscapes, digital painting and photography. Chris is largely self-taught, with early influences in surrealism and comic books. In 1998, he moved to Denmark and began working with digital media and photography in an urban environment. Returning to the Big Island after 11 years in northern Europe, Chris was re-inspired by the island’s beauty and began working on an expanding series of coastal watercolors. Today, Chris lives above Honoka‘a where he continues working with a variety of styles and techniques. Studio visit by appointment:
