Island of Maui

The name hasn’t changed since this classic old Maui building housed a mom-and-pop supply depot for the small plantation town of Hali‘imaile. But today the old store is one of Maui’s best known and most award-winning restaurants. Its fame is largely due to its owner, celebrity chef Bev Gannon, who describes her culinary inventions as “eclectic American with Asian overtones.” Hali‘imaile General Store is always a great experience. When in Wailea, you can visit Bev at her other restaurants: Gannon’s (at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course) 808-875-8080, and the new Joe’s Nuevo Latino (at the Wailea Tennis Club) 808-875-7767.
