Island of Maui

Maui artist Kathleen Alexander’s stunning watercolor paintings are so powerful they are often mistaken at first glance for photographs. Her focus is on capturing a quiet moment in nature or life – using strong, dynamic color and accentuating light and shadow to create depth and realism. Kathleen finds inspiration in the natural beauty all around Hawai’i and Maui where she lives with her husband of 28 years, Tom. Her work has been included in two issues of Watercolor Artist Magazine and five editions of “Splash”, by North Light Books. Represented by Village Galleries, Kathleen also teaches watercolor workshops and private lessons. Studio visits by appointment.
