Not your average local style barbeque, owners—husband and wife—Tricia and Mark Ruiz, alongside their cousin, Rodney Baptiste, have taken smoked BBQ to the next level. Mixing the very best tastes from their childhood with foods they’ve grown to love through their cultural and culinary experiences, they’ve created a menu full of mouthwatering local dishes served with a modern flair. Grilled and smoked over Kiawe (Hawaiian for mesquite), the meats are cooked to perfection and include favorites like the Crispy Smoked Pulled Pork, Jawaiian Jerk Pork Ribs, Huli Huli Chicken Papaya and Smoked Brisket. Kiawe Roots’ foundation is entirely family operated and they treat every single customer like ‘ohana (family).
