Island of Maui

Back in the boisterous 1800s, Old Lahaina Town was a favorite port to Yankee Whalers who introduced the fine art of scrimshaw. Today these precious carvings are created by modern artists, and are rendered on fossil ivory (since concern for the endangerment of species is foremost on their minds). LAHAINA SCRIMSHAW is world famous for their superb collection! Some pieces cost only a few dollars and some are worth thousands. Gifts that last a lifetime.
