Island of Kauai

Hawai‘i’s first plantation village is located two miles from the Po‘ipu Resort Area on Kaua‘i’s sunny south shore. Koloa was established in 1835 where three New Englanders leased land from King Kamehameha III and established Hawai‘i’s first successful sugar plantation. The historic plantation buildings have been restored and are now occupied by a quaint collection of local shops, galleries and restaurants. Old Koloa Town is located at the intersection of Koloa and Po‘ipu Roads on the way to Po‘ipu Beach, Brennecke’s Beach, Spouting Horn and the sun and sand of Kaua‘i’s south shore. Find them on Facebook @oldkoloatown and South Shore of Kaua‘i Instagram @oldkoloa.
