A gathering place for the Big Island Community, at Wailoa Center you’ll experience contemporary and traditional perspectives on art, music, history, and cultural ideas that you might not be exposed to in everyday life. Wailoa Center is comprised of two galleries that hold month-long art and cultural exhibits, which are completely free to the public. There’s also a visitor information center and the knowledgeable staff of volunteers are always available in the Main Gallery to answer questions. Open Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri from 9am to 4:30pm, Wednesday from 12pm to 4:30pm and closed on weekends and State holidays. Located along the Hilo Bayfront at 200 Piopio St., within the Wailoa State Park Recreation Area, between the Vietnam and Tsunami memorials.
